Handmade by OmegaJute
This is the jute rope that I uses as my personal rope of choice. It is handmade to my specifications with the expert care of the OmegaJute team. What is unique about this jute is that it starts out as industrial grade twine. The process to make this single ply 5mm jute starts with 12 strands of twine that are twisted to make a lay. Then three lays are then hand twisted into the finished rope. I prefer the industrial grade jute because of its strength. It can be coarse or processed more to provide a softer feel. My personal preference is to leave it coarse and allow it to soften naturally over time. The tactile sensations for both rigger and rope bottom are intensely pleasurable. Traditional 8 Meter Lengths with Sailor Whippings
The traditional lengths used in the east are 8 meters in length or 26'. I prefer to use sailor whippings on the ends as they provide an easy pass through at tight or snug spaces while tying. If you prefer the traditional lengths you will be very pleased with how this rope feels as you move through your tie. If you are tying women or men with a average or smaller frame this length will work very well.
David Lawrence's 30' Length of Choice with Sailor Whippings
I use 30' lengths as my preference. This is because I find that extra 4' of rope to be beneficial and provides me with more versatility. I also have only one length of rope in my kits. This is because I never want to wonder if I am picking up a short, mid or long length. They are all uniform. I highly recommend having just one length of rope as it eliminates confusion especially for the new and intermediate rigger.
The purchase price is $1.20 per foot. The minimum order is 5 lengths.
The Traditional 8 Meter length (24') is $31.20 per length.
The David Lawrence 30' length is $36.00 per length.
Orders are custom made and will take between 2 and 3 weeks to fulfill.
